About Us

Our Vision
Choctaw Youth Ranch is an equestrain mentoring program servicing displaced, disadvantaged or otherwise at-risk youth. We provide a safe place where they can come to learn horsemanship, horseback riding, Native American arts & crafts, gardening and an array of other skills, The Ranch was founded in 2011 by Temre Morgan and Jack Gibbons, Temre had a desire to help children experience the satisfaction of hard work while finding healing trust and hope through encouraging relationships, after sharing her desire with Jack the two embarked on an icredible journey. Together they strive to provide hope & self worth for all Children.
Our horses have their own stories that create a unique sensitivity to children. Together the horses and children participate in a 60-90 minute session with a nurturing adult (mentor). The sessions are flexible and allow children to grow at their own pace.
It is our goal that through the individualized session's children will find courage, empowerment, self worth and confidents as well as learn the value of family, service and hard work, We belive that if we attain our goal, children will lead lives of character, affecting not only themselves but the lives around them

Our Program

At CYR, each child is paired with one horse and a minimum of one mentor(depending on childs age). Upon arrival at CYR, each child's individualized needs are identified in order to create a personalized experience. Typically, each session includes a ranch-hand experience, equestrian instruction, art & craft project and the opportunity to love an be loved by horses. The horse/child relationship is a wonderful tool to develop relationships and nurture the needs, hopes and dreams of each child.
